Healthcare is an issue that affects each and every person in Florida and throughout the nation. Do you feel as though you have a say in healthcare quality and policy?
If you would like to get more involved, we encourage you to join HCA’s Good Government Group. This employee-based grassroots organization has three important goals:
- To become more informed about local, state, and national political issues that have an impact on healthcare careers
- To become politically involved
- To have a voice in the policy-making process
We welcome the participation not only of HCA employees but also of friends, families, and volunteers. Membership is completely optional and free.
Good Government Groups are active in Florida, as well as in Georgia and South Carolina, and there local chapters throughout each state. Each group is nonpartisan and holds meetings to talk about local, state, and federal political issues. Groups also host forums for political candidates and elected officials.
We have scheduled a special event on Thursday, July 21, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., in the St. Petersburg General Hospital cafeteria. A representative from the Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections will be onsite, so you can register to vote or update your current registration information. You can also take this opportunity to join the local Good Government Group.
If you are unable to attend, visit HCA’s Good Government Group website to join or to learn more about the organization’s objectives. Remember that effective government depends on the involvement of informed and committed citizens.
